RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE AND WU-TANG CLAN- On their 1997 American tour, Rage teamed up with Method Man, RZA, GZA, ODB, and the rest of the Wu-Tang Clan to perform during the summer. They played 3 times together over the course of one summer, and these concerts were considered some of the greatest ever. The acts appeared Aug. 11 and 18 at the Rock the Bells Festival in San Bernardino, Calif., and San Francisco, and were also on the bill for the event's East Coast debut but never played together.
Throught the 90's, Rage Against the Machine concerts were, and still have, been considered the most intense, hard core, and ragin concerts in music history. With heavy bass lines, and extreme guitar solos, Rage's music was able to give their crowd's and audiences an amazing metal concert, and at the same time an amazing rap concert as well.

Lyric Meanings: "Bulls on Parade"- First released in 1996, Rage Against the Machines "Bulls on Parade" captures the bands thoughts and beliefs regarding the American Government and the American Military system perfectly. The song addresses the American military-industrial complex and how the arms industry and other war affiliated industries urge the government and government officials to take action military wise, in hope of obtaining government contracts. Like most of their songs, there is an obvious message rooted in their lyrics. It's one of those songs everyone has to listen to more than once because it is a industry changing jam.

How as Rage Against the Machine Impacted our society as we know it? Rage took an in your face and direct approach to the political and social problems of their era. They might not have drastically changed society as we know, and they might not have had the biggest impact during their time, but the band was able to ignite a following. The band was able to give their fans and listeners something to think about, whether it be about the goverment or historic events. They were able to create and uproar that people considered radical. "I'm in this band to give volume to various struggles throughout
the world. To me, the tension in this band is a minimal sacrifice." Zack de la Rocha.

The Ideas
Formed in 1991 in Los Angeles, California, Rage Against the Machine first became famous for their fiercely radical music which aimed its ideas toward corporate America and government oppression. First appearing in a living room in Orange County California, Tom Morello, Zack De La Rocha, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilk, were and supported many other bands and events that focused on rebelling against parents, the goverment, and anyone who viewed their music as something terrible.
